FPHEC offered me a stimulating environment where passionate students mutually motivated strive to develop their knowledge of finance

From the beginning of my studies at HEC Montreal, the FPHEC offered me a stimulating environment where passionate students mutually motivate each other with the goal of developing their knowledge of finance beyond their academic programs.

For these reasons, and for over 15 years, analysts and portfolio managers at FPHEC are prime candidats for leading organizations, both in Montreal and abroad.

Today, I am proud to join the FPHEC alumni network which has an outstanding reach in many financial centers around the globe. Like most of my peers in the alumni network, I consider it my duty to give back to this group of promising students.

Long live FPHEC !

The Fonds de placement introduces you to an exceptional network of successful business professionals, and offers many resources that can immensely help you prepare for your future career

I realized later on during my studies that I wanted to work in the Finance industry. Having always had a preference for practical and "hands-on" learning, the FPHEC seemed to be the perfect way to allow me to develop and deepen my knowledge in Finance, as well as prepare me for a fulfilling career in the field.

Effectively, joining this investment group was one of my first steps towards a professional career in Finance. Throughout my experience at the FPHEC, I developed many technical and analytical abilities, and had the chance to have numerous enriching conversations with fellow colleagues and alumni of the group.

This skillset and these discussions ultimately helped me obtain and perform well in my internships, first at PSP Investments in the Private Equity group, and then at TD Securities in Investment Banking, where I currently work full time.

I therefore highly suggest joining the FPHEC to anyone who has the perseverance and the motivation to add this enriching and rewarding challenge to their university experience.

The Fonds is an acclaimed playground for students with a keen interest in economics and finance, and who strive to achieve more.

My years at HEC Montreal were filled with many experiences; from a bachelor degree to a master’s degree, while doing an international student exchange and the JDC Commerce Games. But of all these memorable events, the FPHEC remains by far the most impactful. The Fonds is an acclaimed playground for students with a keen interest in economics and finance, and who strive to achieve more. The curiosity and interest that sustained my dedication to this organization are assets I still rely on today.

Beyond the learning opportunities, the FPHEC also offers a privileged access to the business world through its alumni network. I probably wouldn’t be where I am today without the guidance provided by senior members and graduates of the investment fund. Throughout the years, the people I met via the FPHEC became my colleagues, mentors and even close friends. To current and future members: farewell.

Best,

Thomas

I believe that any student seriously thinking about a career in finance must consider the FPHEC.

With some perspective, it now appears very clear to me that the FPHEC had a major impact on my career and personal development.

My experience within the FPHEC did not only allow me to deepen my knowledge of the financial markets, of securities analysis, of asset management and the experience to manage an organization, but also opened my eyes to the working world of finance and has enabled me to push my passion for investing to a new level.

Whether through the activities organized by the FPHEC, by the interaction with the alumni network or simply by being provided the opportunity to be part of this group of highly motivated students, it gave me an imcomparable head start into the financial workplace.

Based on my personal experience, I believe that any student seriously thinking about a career in finance must consider the FPHEC. It is the perfect experience seeked by today’s employers.

Without the FPHEC, my professional life probably would not be where it currently is and moreover, I would not have met many people who, still today, are some of my closest friends.
