Chester is currently completing his final year in the B.B.A. program at HEC Montréal, specializing in Economics, Finance, and Mathematics.
Chester joined FPHEC as an analyst in fall 2015 and was awarded the “Rookie of the Year” in 2016 by the executive team for the quality and rigor of his work. He then served as portfolio manager in his 2nd year and now serves as the Head of Global Macro Strategy and Asset Allocation. During his studies, he had the chance to work in organizations ranging from start-up to large corporation, and in various functions ranging from business development, finance, and international marketing. Moreover, he had the chance to study abroad at the Vienna University of Economics and Business (WU) as an exchange student. In 2017 he gained experience in equity research while being part of the first-prize winning team in the CFA Institute Research Challenge hosted by CFA Montréal and CFA Quebec, and went on to compete in Seattle for the Americas semi-finals.
In the summer of 2017, he started his journey as an entrepreneur by building an online apparel business from an idea to 5-figures in sales within 6 weeks. Throughout the journey, he learned valuable lessons from problems and mistakes, and continue to do so while growing the business. As a side effect of building a successful business, he developed a deep expertise in digital marketing including consumer behavior, FB/IG advertising, FB analytics, funnel optimization, real-time campaign optimization, advanced targeting/bidding, etc.
