After one semester at HEC Montreal, marked by an award of great distinction due to his excellent academic results, Étienne joined the HEC Montreal Student Investment Fund (FPHEC) as a Metals & Mining Analyst. Former elite hockey player, it is with a great team and competition spirit that, after only one semester working at the FPHEC, he was promoted Portfolio Manager of the Industrials sector. As of today, Étienne is the Portfolio Manager of the Consumer & Healthcare Sector and oversees the development and training of 2 analysts.
On the professional level, Étienne has just completed an eight-month internship in International Private Equity at CDPQ (Caisse de dépôt et placement du Québec). During this internship, he worked on 6 closed transactions for a total of ~CA$1B in investments, including Techem, a German-based sub-metering provider valued at €4.6B. Besides his academic and extracurricular implications, Étienne will represent his university by competing at the Strategic Case of the 2019 Jeux du Commerce. Furthermore, in winter 2017, he completed a student exchange at the Singapore Management University.
Étienne is a sports’ enthusiast. He practices hockey, ski and hiking. He has also completed his scuba diving certification (PADI Open Water) in winter 2017. He intends to complete his bilingual Bachelor in Business Administration with a major in Markets Finance, in May 2019.
